With the ending of all the events of the 19th Asian Games at city of Hangzhou in China & just before the closing ceremony, let’s have a look at the country rankings as per the latest & final medal tally / table / list update as of the closing date of games October 08, 2023.
The host China has won the 19th Asian Games comprehensively by winning 201 golds. Japan Won the 2nd and South Korea 3rd. South Korea was able to win the men’s Football final vs Japan. With the golds in Badminton, Cricket & Kabaddi India were able to win the battle for 4th against Uzbekistan. Iran was able to move up to the 7th on the table. Taiwan, Thailand, Bahrain, North Korea, Kazakhstan & Hong Kong were impressive too. Singapore have lost their early lead & moved down the table. South East Asians such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines & Vietnam were not up to their true potential. The number of countries / teams with at least a single medal stands as 41 out of 45 participants. India’s improvement in the competition was a major highlight. Bhutan, East Timor, Maldives & Yemen ended medal less.
