What will you see at Akrotiri's West House and what was found in there? On the Greek island of Santorini there was a major volcanic eruption around 1,500 B.C. It reshaped the island and buried the ancient city of Akrotiri, its buildings, and advanced technology for its time. The West House is a three story home at Triangle Square with indoor plumbing, frescoes, tools, and luxurious accommodations. We will tour the ruins and what was found in the house, including a description of the rooms and the items found within. We will look at the frescoes of the fisherman, flotilla, and a river landscape.
