With Onam around the corner, today in Vandus Kithcen we are trying out a variety Special Semiya Payasam or Vermicelli Kheer. Unlike the other variants, in this method we are not using cow's milk for the payasam preparation but we will use coconut milk which gives this payasam a variety thick ans sweeter taste.
Ingredients
1. vermicelli - 1/2 CUP
2. SAGO SEEDS - 2 TABLE SPOON
3. jaggery - 1/2 CUP
(MELT IN 1/4 CUP WATER)
4. COCONUT MILK (SECOND EXTRACT) - 2 CUP
5. COCONUT MILK (FIRST EXTRACT) - 1/2 CUP
6. GHEE - 4 TABLE SPOON
7. SALT - 1 pinch
*CASHEW, raisins AND COCONUT PIECES as needed
