Chinese Premier Li Keqiang arrived in Australia on Wednesday for a five-day visit. This is his first overseas visit in 2017, and also his first visit to Australia as Chinese premier. Accompanying him is a large business delegation. Some Australian media believe this is a sign that Beijing is aiming to strengthen economic ties with Canberra and upgrade the free trade agreement between the two countries. In the face of an isolationist Trump administration, China is becoming a champion of free trade. Yet Australia seems to be caught between a rock and a hard place.
