Moments musicaux No. 3 is the third part of Franz Schubert's piano collection D. 780.

Harmonic analysis

The piece is in the tonality of F minor and has the structure ABCA' followed by a coda.

The piece begins with a short introduction, presenting the accompaniment on the left hand. After the introduction, section A starts on the third measure with the main theme in the tonality of F minor.

In the middle section, section B introduces a new theme in the relative tonality of A-flat major. After a repeat, Section C starts with a standing on the dominant of the main tonalitity and ends with a cadence in A-flat major.

At the end, A is repeated in the main tonality of F minor, followed by a coda ending the piece in the parallel tonality of F major.
