This is the first actual boss that you fight on horseback. Two words: SPIN ATTACK! Chase the boss down and use spin attacks to kill him. If the enemies start to get annoying, simply charge into their group and use a spin attack or two to clear them out. After attacking the boss for a few rounds, the battle will move to the bridge.

This phase of the battle is somewhat similar to jousting. In order to keep him from throwing you off, you have to stick to one side of the bridge and quickly move to the left or right when he approaches you. While moving towards him, charge up a spin attack and let him have it right as he passes you; you have to be moving away from him while releasing the spin attack in order to avoid getting knocked off. After hitting him a few times, he will fall, and an epic cutscene plays.

After the battle, there is a touching scene with the children in Kakariko Village.
