This patient is twelve weeks out from surgical reconstruction following traumatic bilateral tibial plateau fractures. A week ago, she was cleared for weight-bearing (WBing). This video captures her first time performing standing marching. She’s focusing on weight shifting, maintaining dynamic knee stability, and balance.
Re-learning to load her legs is critical for returning to weight-bearing activities (walking, squatting, and negotiating stairs) to maximize her functional independence to her pre-injury level.
Stay tuned for more updates on her rehab journey!
Effective and efficient rehab is criterion-based, not time-based.

Always consult your physician before beginning any exercise program. STOP exercising if you experience any symptoms of weakness, unsteadiness, light-headedness/dizziness, chest pain or pressure, nausea, or shortness of breath.
Performing these exercises should not cause pain. If you experience pain while exercising, decrease the speed of your movement. If the pain persists - STOP. Mild soreness after exercising may be experienced after beginning a new exercise.
