Nandan Nilekani is an Indian entrepreneur who co-founded Infosys, one of the largest IT companies in the world, where he became CEO and co-chairman of the Board before becoming Chairman of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), at the invitation of Prime Minister Dr. Singh. There he was responsible for implementing the biometric ID system to give a unique ID to all residents of India. It was called the biggest social project on the planet. Nandan serves on numerous boards and is chairman of EkStep, a non-profit literacy and numeracy platform, besides launching several startups as an investor. He has won many prestigious honors, including one of India's highest Civilian Awards, the Padma Bhushan. His book, Imagining India with a foreword by Tom Friedman, is widely acclaimed.
