To bath or not to bath- it’s up to you. Just don’t buy into the misinformation that bathing vintage Coach bags will ruin them. It’s just not true!
Both my firsthand experiences and science debunk this notion. I have resold many bags at this point and many were cleaned with this method. Bathing can be more work for resellers to get their bags in the best condition to sell, but sometimes the condition of the bag calls for it.
Don’t be afraid to deep clean with a bath if your bag needs it. It’s the best way to get all the build up out of the seams and reshape bag. Nothing makes a VC customer happier than receiving a clean bag looking its best.
As resellers, it’s easier to get our hands on bags in poor condition, that have issues no one wants to deal with -which often means they need a deep clean. Having this method in your cleaning arsenal can help you score flips others pass on.
If you don’t want to bath your vintage Coach bags, don’t. I don’t think it should bother anyone either way. There are multiple ways to get a bag clean. How you do it is up to you.
Not all VC bags need a bath and some very old or mixed materials bags should not be bathed. However most bags from the 80s & 90s can be bathed if they need it!
