refunds VAT or VAT stands for value-added tax and tourists can qualify for this when traveling in Israel which means tourists shop tax-free when they meet certain conditions first you have to shop at a store that participates in this refund a way to check for that is to look for the tax refund for tourist sticker on the door or windows of the store number two your purchases have to cost more than four hundred shekels number three is they have to be items that you will take back with you to your home countries they have to be personal used and they cannot include food drinks or tobacco when you make a purchase and you want to be a part of the refund make sure to ask for a VAT tax receipt so that it is an itemized receipt with the store name on it that you can take back with you to the airport when you apply for your refund there are something that you take with you to the VAT refund tax counter at the airport make sure to take the VAT refund receipt that they give you and the normal receipt that they give you as well and the items that you purchased at those stories you will also
