A PERT chart helps you get things done -- in project management, at least. PERT charts boast many benefits for small and large projects. Learn about the pros and cons of using a PERT chart.
A PERT chart -- standing for Program Evaluation Review Technique chart -- is a way to visually lay out all the steps in a project, from start to finish. PERT charts are helpful in project management so teams know who is responsible for what, which task comes next, and which tasks stand in the way of other tasks.
Using numbers, boxes, and lines, PERT charts help team members navigate through all the steps in a project to complete it on time and with ease. Sometimes it’s compared to the Gantt chart, though managers often use both techniques.
