In a historic event, 114 acres of land was returned to the Cansayapi community by the State of Minnesota and the Minnesota Historical Society.
The Lower Sioux Indian Community recently held a signing and return ceremony at their community center. Lower Sioux Indian Community President Robert Larsen, Minnesota's Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan and Minnesota Historical Society President and CEO Kent Whitworth all gave moving speeches
