Vengara: Though the official figures of the voter turnout in Vengara by-elections have not come out, it is learnt that the constituency witnessed above 70 per cent polling. his is the first Assembly bypoll conducted after the Left government came to power. In the 2016 Assembly elections, the poll percentage was 70.7 per cent. However, more polling has been recorded this time. A total of six candidates including two independents are in the fray. IUML's KNA Khader (UDF), CPM's P P Basheer (LDF) and BJP's K Janachandran (NDA) represent the main political fronts in Kerala.There are 1,70,009 voters out of which 87,750 are men and 82,259 are women.
