The world is full of complex systems ranging from social hierarchies to cells that create organisms. This presentation aims to not only describe, but show how small-scale interactions, such as between atoms, can create complex life. This is known as emergent behavior. A particle simulation will be presented and visually compared to real-world organisms as shown through a microscope. A key focus will be on the significance of how simulating emergent behavior in computers will play a large role in computing in the future.
