The Gemini Observatory in Hawaii captured atmospheric pressure waves on January 15, created by the eruption of the Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apai volcano 5,000 miles away in Tonga. They appear in this footage as "faintly red waves," according to NOIRLab.
