Is it worth Visiting Small Cities in Europe? In this Transylvania Travel Vlog, we are taking a train from Alba Iulia to Sibiu, Romania! This is the final city of our Transylvania by Train Series.
The final day of our Transylvania Train Series took us by train from Alba Iulia to Sibiu. The train from Alba Iulia to Sibiu was short and sweet, it only took 2.5 hours to reach our destination. The train tickets cost $2.50 per person! Cities in Transylvania and Romania are very well connected. This is just one way that Romania is one of Europe’s most underrated countries, it is easy for travelers to get around.
Sibiu, nicknamed The City with Eyes is known for its culture, history, gastronomy, and diverse architecture. Historically, Sibiu has been one of the most important centers of the Transylvanian Saxons. In 2004, Sibiu’s historical center began the process of becoming a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Sibiu was designated the European Capital of Culture in 2007 and the following year it was ranked "Europe's 8th-most idyllic place to live" by Forbes. In 2019, Sibiu was named the European Region of Gastronomy. Sibiu has something for everyone!
Today we’ll show you how to tour Europe on a budget. In Sibiu, we visited the bridge of lies, and ate lots of bread, pastries, and ice cream! We spent a lot of time wandering the beautiful streets of Sibiu!
