I have it in my records as a Vani Mahal concert, during the 1980s. One can literally submit a thesis about the glorious accompaniment one gets to experience in this concert and also the great partnership between KVN-UKS. Pls feel free to point out any inaccuracy on the venue/ year.
Even the simple TelisirAma krithi gives us so many moments to enjoy. The fine "poDi" sollus that UKS Sir plays for "TelisirAma" & with each sangati he adds embellishments, finally culminating in a phrase, compatible with "RSNPMGMRS", which Sri KVN uses as a launch pad for the kalpana swaras, the prefect pause and the razor sharp precision as the Mrudangam joins for "nijatatva", the valam-idam (Treble-Bass) balance, Such subtle elegance, unbelievable nAdham, cannot get more beautiful.
""heccarikagA rArA hE rAmacandra" in thsi concert is easily the best version I have heard, right up there with the ARI-TNK-PMI version from the Alleppey concert. The neraval "ninnu jUDavaccu bhagini karambu ciluka" is a masterclass all its own. What can one say about the accompaniment. Suffice to say that it would remain a lesson for generations to come.
