Governments around the world are scrambling to assure citizens that AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine is safe. It comes after a German committee recommended it shouldn't be given to people aged over 65, citing a lack of sufficient data among older age groups.
As Associate Professor at the University of Reading, Dr Alexander Edwards says, it's not that there’s “any reason to believe the vaccine isn't effective in older people - there just isn't as much data”.
