Now, RGV and Maddineni Ramesh join the Nandi Awards slug fest; lash out at each other on social media.
Nandi Awards have always been plagued by controversies but never before did things get as ugly as they have gotten this time. On Thursday, things turned unprecedentedly sour when one of the jury members, Maddineni Ramesh lashed out at Ram Gopal Varma hurling the choicest of profanities for criticising the Nandi AwardsIt all started when RGV poked fun at the choice of winners (see inset), and posted sarcastically that the Nandi Award Jury deserved an Oscar for the fine job that they did of selecting winners. A peeved Maddineni Ramesh responded with an expletive-laden retort calling RGV a "eunuch" and a disgrace to the Telugu race, among other unpublishable names. "Nijayitiga panichesina maa committee gurinchi matladithe evadiki emi koyyalo adi kosesthamu," (Whoever criticises our jury which worked with utmost honesty will have their body parts chopped off), wrote Ramesh, warning others to think twice before criticising them. Reacting to this, RGV retorted: "I am not feeling too bad about the profanities hurled at me. What I feel bad about though is that the government chose such people to be part of the Nandi Award committee."
