On the Christmas Day Me and my parents went on a day road trip to Mt. Martha and the Rye Beach in the Mornington Peninsula in south of Melbourne. The Mt. Martha is a nice beach which is only like 50KM away from the city centre, Melbourne. The Pillars is a area in Mt. Martha that is ideal for beginner level cliff jumping. This place is not a legit tourists' spot recommended by the Tourist Board, but is very popular among the locals and the tourists. Plus it is not either illegal!!!! The water is vey clean and flat (calm ) in this area so ideal for swimming, paddle boarding and other watersports.
HOW TO GET TO THE PILLARS-
To drive is the best option! You can use GPS to get directly to the Pillars. It is available on the Google Maps. Pillars located about 2KMs away from Mt. Martha Beach is a hidden spot where you have to walk through a little bushy area. It is better to cark your car closer to the walking trails. There are plenty of parking spots around.
Public Transport Option: It is possible to take a train from the City centre to Frankston and then take a bus from Frankston to Mt. Martha. This might consume some time though!
THE MELBOURNIAN is a Blog/ Vlog series I am doing in parallel with my travel blog - "Life On Road" exploring the closest city- Melbourne while spending my time at home without having much to travel in overseas for a while! Most of it's content is about the city Melbourne, it's suburbs, Victoria Estate and also about the other places in Australia.
