For this week’s instalment of the EMS Virtual Recital series, we are delighted to welcome Antonida Kocharova. She is accompanied by pianist Osman Tack.
Antonida will be performing scenes from operas by Tchaikovsky.

Antonida is an Oxford-based barrister and soprano. She was the 2018 winner of the Roy Harvey Memorial Cup for best opera or oratorio performance at the Oxford Music Festival, and regularly appears as a recitalist and soloist in local choral concerts. As Secretary of the Oxford Opera Society, Antonida is heavily involved with productions, both as producer and performer, and she most recently sang the roles of Elsa (Lohengrin), Wellgunde (Rheingold) and Tatiana (Eugene Onegin) in the 2020 Opera Scenes Concert. Previous operatic engagements have included the roles of the Nanny (Eugene Onegin, The People’s Opera, 2019), and the 2nd spirit (Die Zauberflöte, Guildford Opera Company, 2009), as well as chorus roles with Oxford Opera Company (2018), New Chamber Opera (2017), Oxford Opera Society and Cavatina Opera (2018). Osman is finishing his PhD in Organic Chemistry at St John's college and intends to pursue a career as a concert pianist, accompanist and teacher. He has accompanied a wide variety of musicians, singers, groups and dancers in genres ranging from classical to musicals. He is currently under the tuition of Ian Jones at the Royal College of Music in London and enjoys teaching piano and violin at all standards.
