A motorist has been caught on film trying to get out of a four hour motorway queue after a serious crash – by driving the WRONG WAY down the hard shoulder.
Back seat passenger John Armitage filmed the blue Mercedes driving towards the exit they had just missed on Saturday night [Mar 30] after all lanes were closed near Junction 37 of the southbound M1 in Barnsley, South Yorks.
John – who sent his footage to the police – said the road had been closed after a serious smash with drivers stuck in four-hour tailbacks.
He said the blue Mercedes was chased down the hard shoulder by a woman who is believed to have got out of the same car.
