Hi folks, if you own a 560 SelectTech and need to disassemble it for any reason, or you're just interested in how they work, then this video is for you. Please keep in mind that Bowflex will very likely void any warranty if you disassemble a handle that is still under warranty. The company doesn't really want you to take its dumbbells apart. Most of these are out of warranty now anyway so it's a non-issue...and it has been discontinued so your only source for parts will probably be sites such as eBay or Craigslist.
All of the information in this video is provided without any warranty/guarantee from me. Disassemble these dumbbells at your own risk...yadda yadda legalese.
I mention toward the end of this video a link to another video about how to reset the handle to 5 lbs when it is out of its base. Here's that link:

I forgot to mention that you can also empty all of the weights from your base, place the handle on the base, set it to 5lbs, remove it from the base again, return your weights to thee base and re-insert your handle. That method works too.
I also mention at 3:20 a DIY project. And I forgot to explain that later in the video. Basically, the numbers that represent the weight settings are printed on one long narrow decal that is adhered to the innermost discs. If you'd like to make the weight settings easier to read on your 560, you can create your own custom decal(s) and either remove & replace the existing decal, or stick yours on top of theirs. White on black or vice versa would be the best contrast and easiest to read. I may do this in a future video.
Last but not least you heard me mention C-clip multiple times. They're also known as Circlips and snap rings. Google any of those terms to find pliers like the ones I used in the video.
Cheers,
Average Joe
