Sir Keir Starmer congratulated Donald Trump on winning the US presidency and stressed the importance of a strong UK-US partnership, especially in a “volatile” world.
At Prime Minister's Questions, Starmer called the UK and US "the closest allies" and looked forward to future cooperation.
Meanwhile, new Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch challenged Starmer to apologize for past comments about Trump by Foreign Secretary David Lammy, who had previously called Donald Trump a “racist KKK and Nazi sympathiser.”
Starmer didn’t apologise but highlighted a recent dinner he and Lammy had with Trump in New York.
