On November 15, the Center for the National Interest organized a panel discussion entitled "Understanding Russian Deception." Speakers included Samuel Charap, a senior political scientist at the RAND Corporation and a former State Department senior advisor on arms control and non-proliferation matters during the Obama administration, and Paul Saunders, executive director of the Center for the National Interest and a former State Department senior advisor in the George W. Bush administration. George Beebe, the Center for the National Interest's senior fellow and director for intelligence and national security, as well as a former head of the CIA's Russia analysis, moderated.
