In this video I explain a little about soundboard cracks and their lack of impact on the performance of a piano. I also talk about where they can cause trouble. Then I talk a little about how I plan to make the repair and also point out what the technician does to deal with the issues from cracks in the home. I mention in the video about some research on this subject. An objective investigation was done by Dr. William Braid White, Principal of the School of Pianoforte Technology, Chicago, Ill., and was reprinted with permission from the Piano Trade Magazine, Chicago, Ill. Sorry I misspoke in the video about the school being in Canada.
