As a physical therapist specializing in osteoarthritis- I know that sticking with exercise can be hard. But it’s absolutely crucial to your pain relief success ✅
So how do you unlock consistency?
By first looking at the reasons you aren’t being consistent. Two main reasons I see are:
1️⃣ Trying exercises that end up being too intense and leave you feeling worse than when you started. It’s really hard to stick to something that doesn’t make you feel good
2️⃣ Trying to move through exercise but feeling scared or hesitant. That’s not going to be very motivating.
Instead let’s reframe it.
✅ Firstly, If you experience pin after an exercise- think about it what your body is trying to tell you.
Too heavy❓
Too many❓
Too much mobility needed❓
Then reflect and make changes accordingly. Sometimes it truly is an experiment and it’s not always black and white.
✅ Secondly, start small and start with movements that will make your joints feel good. They may not jump out at you but experimenting with different movements can help you find those that make you say “wow that actually doesn’t hurt and my joint feels less stiff/painful”
They are out there! Scour my profile or my YouTube channel and find two movements. Do them for one week. See how you feel and how you do sticking to it‼️
