A group of unidentified men Friday attacked the city abattoir at around 11am in the morning. Upon accessing the premises, the men stormed the chairperson's office, Abel Mugumba hit him with a blunt object on the head leaving him unconscious. About 11.8million shillings was stolen from the chairman's office. Police managed to arrest those who caused the fracas. This incident follows a row over the ownership of the abattoir pitting the current management against businessman Hassan Bassajjabalaba.
