Introduction to Skills Development and Role of the SDF with HRSM
The Skills Development Act was promulgated in 1998.
The purpose of the Act was to:
• Develop the skills of the South African workforce,
• Increase levels of investment in education and training in the labour market,
• To improve the return of investment,
• Encourage employers to use the workplace as an active learning environment,
• Provide employees with opportunities to acquire new skills.
