Chocolate Chip Crumbl Cookie Copycat Recipe
4 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 t. baking soda
1 t. baking powder
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 tsp. kosher salt
1 1/2 cups salted butter, softened
1 1/4 cups brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 large eggs room temperature
4 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cups large milk chocolate chips
Place softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar in mixer. Beat Medium speed for 3 minutes scraping sides down periodically. Add eggs one at a time & mix but don’t beat. Add vanilla & add dry ingredients a little at a time mixing until incorporated together. Stir in chocolate chips.
Dry ingredients:
Mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, cornstarch, & kosher salt in separate bowl and whisk until well incorporated. set aside.
I used a heaping 1/2 cup measure, scoop balls of dough into hands and form into a loose ball. Place cookie dough balls on a rimmed baking sheet and place in refrigerator for about 1 hour or place in the freezer for 25 to 30 minutes if in a hurry.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F Line baking sheets with parchment. I make 3 cookies per baking sheet, carefully tear each dough ball in half and place one half on top of the other with the broken, jagged side up. Gently press the 2 halves together. Don’t smooth the top.
Bake until golden brown. I did 12 min in my ovens but know your oven.
I added more chocolate chips after baking but you can add flaky salt on top if you want. With the salted butter and the kosher salt it was perfect to me.
These are just heavenly. I looked at many recipes. All Recipes is the closest I found to what I wanted. I didn’t follow exactly but just look up copycats if you want to see more. First time making them and I couldn’t ask for better unless from the store. And I think mine are really good. I wrapped separately and froze. One cookie will easily feed me and Sweet Hunter.
