Filthy black metal from the ImpNaz school
This is the first full-length album from Lüger, a Belgian band playing sick, militant black metal.
The sound here is muddy, rough, and nasty, just as the music demands. The instruments are subordinate to the disgusting vocal belches, and strangely enough, the lead guitars are the lowest thing in the mix! There are some quite cool solos here that are rendered almost inaudible due to this, but I have to admit that it works for this sort of music.
The songwriting on "Kill, Worship, Die" is chaotic and sloppy, with brilliant moments of occasional clarity, such as the repetition of the title and accompanying riff on "Espermo Malefico". In fact, the riffing is the best feature of this album -- it seems that Lüger have an endless supply of chunky old-school black metal riffs. Combined with the insane vocals (check out "Hellkunt" for a sterling example), they'll have you destroying everything in sight in short order.
The only complaint I can make here is the album's short playing time... and given the style, thirty minutes is probably just about right. Fans of sick black metal like Impaled Nazarene and Beherit should be more than pleased with this one. Recommended.
Standout tracks: "Espermo Malefico", "Hellkunt"
