It seems like a unusual event for me these days, wrangling bees by myself. With so many good wranglers always wanting to help, there is hardly an adventure when I fly solo. Well, on this occasion, I'm the chief cook and bottle washer.
I'm headed to Weilheim, La today and remove a hive that has been in a wall for a few months. As it turns out, I'm only 4 miles away from one of our bee yards, and about 10 miles from the abbey. The hive turned out to be a lot larger than the thermal camera showed, and the construction of the hive was stunning, lots of new comb, and very large slabs as well. Oh, and did I mention, there was quite a bit of honey along with a lot of bees to keep me busy for about 3 hours. There were so many bee I had to place another deep super on the hive within a week, and just yesterday, I added a honey super to the hive as well.
So without further delay, lets get watching. One more thing if you don't mind, if you do take the time to read this video description, would you please leave a comment saying so. God's peace to all. Mr. Ed
