A man has been charged with attempted murder after police claim he slammed an allegedly stolen Audi into a policeman, breaking the officer’s leg (pictured left) before crashing into a power pole. Queensland Police charged three men in relation to the incident which happened about 10.30 on Friday night at the intersection of Wynnum and Junction Roads in Morningside, Brisbane. Police tried to stop the allegedly stolen white Audi wagon by deflating its tyres, but before the vehicle could be halted the driver allegedly changed lanes and made a beeline for a police officer. The car then collided with a power pole. The policeman suffered a broken right leg and was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital. A 25-year-old man from Deception Bay has been charged with attempted murder, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlicensed driving, failure to stop and two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
