Everyone has heard of the Titanic. But few people know about this major shipwreck, which is much closer to us in time. This video is about the Egyptian ferry Salem Express, which sank in the Red Sea in 1991. We will show you how he looks now in this film. This is not a documentary - this is a reflection film. This is the first film that we shot back in the last century, technical diving was just in its infancy - more than 20 years ago! Over time, it turns into an artificial reef with many underwater inhabitants. And what could have been seen 20 years ago is no longer visible. Natural destruction occurs under the influence of salty sea water. In our film, you can see what was a long time ago.
On December 15, 1991, the ferry departed from Jeddah to his native Safaga. There were 650 people on board (according to other sources, at least 1000 people, including illegal passengers). These were mainly tourists and pilgrims. The ship was operated by the super-experienced captain Hasan Moro, who, according to rumors, knew every square kilometer of the Red Sea by heart. But on this voyage, he made several gross mistakes, which led to the tragedy.
