Made in 1951 by Mark Rothko, this painting was purchased for $ 186 million by Russian businessman Dmitry Rybolovlev in 2014. In addition, it is one of the works involved in the “Bouvier” affair which opposes Dmitry Rybolovlev to the Swiss art dealer Yves Bouvier accused of fraud.

Originally estimated at $ 100 million, this oil painting costing around 1500 and auctioned by Christie's in November 2017 broke an absolute record: $ 450.3 million. Acquired by a private collector—one of the first works by Leonardo da Vinci—this painting has long been talked about for the mystery that surrounds it.
