Somewhere in England. Whilst visiting this winter, Tim got to maiden his father's lockdown build project. Stevie built this 28" wingspan kit. In Tim's words: "Since it's not an RC kit out of the box, Dad had to do some 'figuring' to get everything sorted, including keeping things as light as possible, and deciding where to put servos and batteries.
It flies on 2S, and could easily do 5 minute flights with the 1000mah pack and a Turnigy AX-2203C 1400kv brushless outrunner turning a 7x4 prop.
There was already lead in the cowl to get the CG to 20mm back from lower wing leading edge, but the wisdom of the web said even 15mm back is unflyable and 10mm should be aimed for. So we added some blutack to the back of the cowl and crossed our fingers at around 12 mm." Flying weight was around 240g. A true family team effort: Stevie did a great build, Tim flew it nicely and Juliette did a good job of recording it for us on a phone camera.
