The Ford C-Max puts out 188 horsepower total with the combination of the 2.0 liter 4-cylinder Atkinson Cycle gas engine and a pair of battery assisted electric motors. The transmission is an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission. More importantly you get 47 MPG combined driving which is very impressive for a vehicle in this class. The C-MAX features regenerative braking in order to fill recharge the batteries.
The 2013 Ford C-MAX stands out in terms of the driving dynamics. Thanks to the Focus platform, the C-MAX feels light and nimble in the corners. Acceleration and passing power are decent enough for a hybrid. Weight is kept as low as possible which is important with a hybrid vehicle since the battery packs add so much weight.
