[ Ссылка ] It only took one month from the time the Magic Lantern team announced the Canon 7d hack solution to the moment they were able to release the alpha version of Magic Lantern for the 7d.
The features are still limited, but they've already made good progress with the camera so far. The biggest advantage is the added on screen audio meters. I know that many of you record dual system sound, but sometimes it's simply easier to record directly to the camera if you can. This might not produce the highest audio quality possible, but many times it's more then acceptable when capturing talking heads or other none complex dialog.
This release of Magic Lantern is still in alpha, so you will need to load the firmware file into the camera each time you want to use the features. No boot flag is set in the camera and if you run into any problems you can simply shut the camera down and turn it back on to bring it back to it's normal state.

If you find the firmware useful, consider donating to the Magic Lantern team, even a few dollars helps to support their efforts. Finding new camera bodies to test isn't cheap and every little bit helps.
