Gokulpuri tyre market on Monday night was set on fire during violence which erupted over the newly amended citizenship law in the capital’s North-East district.
The fire department received a call about the massive fire at around 8.30pm, a fire department official was quoted saying. 15 fire tenders were rushed to the spot, however, they failed to control the fire and the entire market was engulfed.
Almost all shops were gutted in the fire by the time it was brought under control by the fire department.
