On today's adventure into the sandhills of South Florida, we've got one thing on our minds: snakes! Specifically the tricolored snakes, those being the scarlet snake, the eastern coral snake, and the scarlet kingsnake! All three species are very uncommon, and are some of the most beautiful snakes the state has to offer! As always we hope y'all enjoy this video :D
Scarlet kingsnakes are probably the most beautiful Florida snakes you can typically see in the state, with their bright reds and whites, along with their shiny black bands. While they are often just lumped as "the coral snake's mimic" these snakes have their own distinct appearance, habits, and behaviors. Unlike their venomous counterpart, these snakes are constrictors, and like many other kingsnake species, the scarlet kings have been known to eat smaller snakes, sometimes even if said snake is larger than they are!
While these snakes have two other tricolored snake species in the state to compete with, alongside over 40 other snake species, they still stand out as one of the most brilliantly colored and beautiful animal species in Florida!
