(21 Jan 2022) Thousands of Buddhist monks gathered in central Seoul on Friday to protest what they say is religious discrimination by South Korea's government.
It was the first large-scale Buddhist rally of its kind since 2008 when monks had gathered to protest against the government for alleged religious prejudices and discrimination.
Friday's rally was triggered by anti-Buddhist remarks by a lawmaker of the governing party.
