This transverse and longitudinal ultrasound videoclip is part of our supplemental materials from our recent publication in the Equine Veterinary Journal. The manuscript is entitled "Ultrasonographic appearance of normal and injured lateral patellar ligaments in the equine stifle." The abstract is available online to the public and the full version is available to subscribers ([ Ссылка ]). This video shows a severe lateral patellar ligament injury in a horse with recent trauma and lameness. The scan is performed from proximal to distal and shows a large nearly anechoic area in the center of the ligament distally and at its insertion onto the proximal tibia where there is also evidence of a bony sequestrum. Corresponding fiber tearing is evident on the longitudinal view. A pre-existing OCD lesion is also present at the lateral trochlear ridge. Bone lesions were also apparent on radiographs.
