Salesforce is the original SaaS company, so why don't they use SaaS metrics to describe their business? Who knows, but their business is becoming increasingly harder to decipher as they acquire more and more capabilities, a strategy that's led to the emergence of $48 billion of goodwill on their balance sheet. Salesforce may be the biggest SaaS company out there but they're hardly the best. Activist investors are circling as the company CEO goes on political rants and promotes divisive DEI policies.
