Winter Activities
SKIING &SNOWBOARDING. Gulmarg is the ultimate skiing resort for all levels of skiers, with runs ranging from gentle beginner slopes to the massive (2 km+) ski run accessible by the Gondola.
ICE-SKATING. An ice-skating rink has been recently developed in Gulmarg for enthusiasts.
HELI-SKIING.

Snow Cycling
Snow cycling is available for an additional cost from Phase 1 to the Base Station which covers a distance of approximately 6 kms and adventurous snow sloppy terrain. The prices are not fixed and its best to check out the rates with different people and choose your ride.

Snow Bikes
There are two Snow Bike trips that are organised in Phase 1. The first option is to visit the K1 Point and return. The Second option is to visit K1 and then to K2 which is on a higher altitude and return. The ticket costs are fixed and will be available in the Snow Sports Counter at Phase 1. Depending on the cost and timings you can choose between the two options.

It is best to request for a discount for any Sledge and Pony rides in Phase 1 Gulmarg.

Few necessary things to carry during your trip
Hot Water Flask, Thermal Wears, Gloves, Woollen Caps, Woollen clothing.

It is highly recommended to plan for 2 days while visiting Phase 1 and 2 since Phase 2 could be closed often during Winter due to heavy snowfall. Phase 1 and Phase 2 are like two different worlds due to the surrounding views and sceneries around.

Gondola Daily Timings

Phase 1 Timings
9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Phase 2 Timings
10:00 am to 03:00 pm

Summer vs Winter in Gulmarg
Different seasons, different scenes. If you are fond of snowfall, skiing etc, winter season is fine. Greenery, flowers, the waters, trekking can be enjoyed in summer months. All the places are open that time. The only big reason for visiting in winters is snow. I would recommend going in winter and then back in summer! it will feel like a different place!

Srinagar to Gulmarg by road
The road trip from Srinagar Airport to Gulmarg town is approximately around 80 to 90 minutes.

Shopping
Dry fruits, Almonds, Walnuts are very famous in outlets in Tangmarg and would suggest you could buy them on your way back from Gulmarg to Srinagar.

Hotels & Resorts in Gulmarg
It is best to book for your stay before your reach Gulmarg especially during the Winters Seasons as most Hotels will be fully booked and you may have to book else where in Tangmarg which is a 30 minutes drive if you do not have a confirmed reservation. Most of Hotels & Resorts in Gulmarg is just a 15 to 20 minutes walk to the Snow Activities area and Gondola Phase 1 Entrance.

Local Food and Restaurants at Gulmarg
There are a number of small restaurants in Gulmarg close to the Market. Both Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian options are available.
