Excel’s formula bar has been a long-standing fixture at the top of a workbook, providing us with the go-to place for creating and editing our formulas.
Whilst offering a heavily limited range of features compared to modern-day integrated development environments (IDEs), it’s proven adequate for most intents and purposes.
However, Excel’s calculation engine upgrade and the introduction of LAMBDA a few years ago brought greater attention to its shortfalls.
People were now creating their own functions, prompting the need for hotly requested features like debugging, commenting, indenting, and line breaks.
