In Malaysia, it is a crowded race in the Nov 16 Tanjung Piai by-election as six candidates will be vying for the seat. Although it has been only a year-and-a-half since Pakatan Harapan came to power, many are upset with what they see as unfulfilled election promises. Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad has travelled to Tanjung Piai twice to shore up support. The opposition Barisan Nasional is fielding former Tanjung Piai MP Wee Jeck Seng from the Malaysian Chinese Association.
