Syrax was the dragon of Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen. He participated and died in the Dance of the Dragons.

Syrax was named by Rhaenyra after an ancient god of the Frankish Fief of Valyria. In 104 A. C., at the age of seven, Princess Rhaenyra flew for the first time on the back of the young Syrax.

This August 21, lands on HBO Max the first of ten episodes of The House of the Dragon, the long-awaited Game of Thrones prequel that will chronicle the years of House Targaryen's reign in Westeros.
