The Mills test is used to help diagnose lateral epicondylitis, more commonly referred to as tennis elbow.
Performance: To perform the mills test, the examiner will passively extend the patient’s elbow followed by full pronation at the wrist.
Positive Finding: The test is considered positive if the patient experiences pain over the lateral epicondyle during the exam, suggesting symptoms of tennis elbow or lateral epicondylitis.
