Fisheries NT from the Department of Industry Tourism and Trade has developed a series of animated videos to promote safe fishing practices in remote communities. These videos were developed with the support of SeSAFE.

SeSAFE is funded by the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FRDC), the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) and the Australian fishing and aquaculture industry. The goal of SeSAFE is to raise awareness and improve safety performance in the Australian fishing and aquaculture industry.

The series of videos are available in Aboriginal language and will be delivered in remote communities across the NT.

There are eight videos:

2. Dangerous marine life
3. Planning a trip
4. Launch and retrieve a net: land
5. Launch and retrieve a net: boat
6. Fish processing
7. Ropes and nets
8. Using a cold chain
