(10 Oct 2014) Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger visited French President Francois Hollande at the Elysee Palace in Paris on Friday to discuss ways to protect the environment and reduce climate change.
The actor and former California Governor made the visit as the Founding Chair of the R20 environment group, in attempts to find a way to reach a global agreement on tackling climate change.
"Our organisation, the R20 and I, we are big believers in a regional approach, in the sub-national approach ... because we in California have been very successful without the help of the national government. And so it is just a different approach to utilise the states, the cities, the provinces, in order to get the agreement done," he said.
France hosts the COP 21 climate conference in Paris on December 15 next year, and Schwarzenegger has offered his help in bringing about the global agreement.
